Then (and most importantly) CLICK ON LINKS BELOW AND PRACTICE. Have your part memorized and polished if you want to shine. Smile and have a great attitude!

Audition For Marian Paroo
Marian has 2 different "lines"--One with Harold, one with Mama. She also has one song.
Lines with Mama:

Lines with Harold:

Song to Sing:  "My White Knight"
Sing with piano alone to learn:
Sing along with the professional (begins at about 2 mins)

AUDITION FOR MAYOR SHINN
Mayor Shinn takes himself very seriously, feels very self-important, and mixes up words regularly without realizing it. He says everything with a great deal of confidence.  End at "Credentials!" NO SINGING.

AUDITION FOR MRS. PAROO
Mrs. Paroo is Marian and Winthrop's Mother. She has a thick Irish accent and a huge personality! I can't wait to see some of you audition for this wonderful role! She has lines and a song.

Mrs. Paroo's Song:
Sing along on the piano with Mrs. Crane:
Sing along with a professional:
MRS Paroo's Lines
AUDITION FOR EULALIE MACKECKNIE SHINN
and PICK A LITTLE LADIES
Oh! This is a fun part!!  Bring your sense of humor and sass.  Confidence is a must! Say lines, then sing.
Practice with Mrs. Crane:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMfRPKghVdU

TOMMY DJILAS AND ZANEETA SHINN AUDITION:
We are looking for "character" choices here! They both have a phrase they always say.  Tommy says, "Jeely Kly." Zaneeta says, "E-gads." They are young teens in love. Try using different voice-styles until you find one that really stands out and helps us envision you in this role. Being good at dance/movement a plus for this role.

AUDITION FOR CHARLIE COWELL
This traveling salesman HATES Harold Hill and is just a bit of a cad.  Has to smooch Marian, so don't audition for this part if you won't/can't kiss on stage. Acting skills a must.

AUDITION FOR MARCELLUS WASHBURN
The only person who knows the truth about Harold.  He is a loyal friend and a great personality! Must be an awesome performer!
Lines to learn:

Song to sing:

Sing along on the piano with Mrs. Crane:

“City” cast—Lance Smith
Barbershop Quartet:

·       Based upon their excellent auditions, the following individuals get to perform in the difficult opening number “Rock Island” as traveling salesmen. (Check it out online—it’s the epic “train” song about 2 minutes into “Rock Island.”) These boys will be used elsewhere in the show as well.  We also hope these individuals will come back and audition on Nov. 7-8 for the other male leads:

Jett Johnson, Logan Castillo, Emmett Huff, Ben Jessop, Jeremy Shipp, Tyler Bingham, Carter Rose, James Bunnell, Tanner Swapp

· ALL BOYS WHO AUDITIONED Oct. 10th WILL BE CAST IN
 THE SHOW. Well done!

NOTE:  We had a fantastic callback for our barbershop quartet. Final decisions were based upon who could stay true to their pitch while singing with 3 other parts. After narrowing that down and having students of equal ability, we looked at Grades and Citizenship. Please remember that we can’t cast anyone with F’s and U’s, and N’s will have to have teacher approval.  Work hard to get your grades/citizenship improved. We NEED YOU in “The Music Man!”
